Peter Atherton
British-born Peter Atherton owns and operates Atherton Photographic Studio in Menlo Park, California. Peter specializes in high-end weddings and bridal fashion features and covers for well-known wedding magazines, like Todays Bride.
Peter was born and educated in Lancashire, England. Little did he know at age 21, while studying photography at Plymouth College of Art and Design in England, that he would some day travel the world taking pictures, and wind up in California.
Earlier in his career, he shot commercial work and portraiture, before choosing wedding photography exclusively a few years ago. Peter opened the studio in 1983, shortly after coming to America from Great Britain.
Peter was awarded his Master degree in 1990 and Craftsman in 1991 by the Professional Photographers of America. His outstanding images have not only graced the covers of bridal magazines, but the covers of photography and electronic publications as well.
Tamron, Bronica, Kodak and GraphiStudio have all sponsored his photographic lecture tours. Lexar also honoured Peter by inviting him to join their
elite photographer program from 2003-2006. Keeping it simple and lightweight is what its all about in Peter Atherton's fast moving, stylistic, fashion
